This is a self-packing service. The most cost effective way to move if you have only few items.

Charges included

  • Packing supplies.
  • Compensation within the appropriate amount specified in the Packing List and within the maximum limit set for each plan.

Charges not included

  • Packing service.
  • Duties and tax, port handling fees and other customs charges.
  • Other fees may apply due to other conditions.

Service Flow

Step1. Fill Out the Inquiry Form on the Website.

Our agent will contact you for more information.

Step2. Delivery of starter kit

You will receive the customs declaration forms and packing supplies.

Step3. Pack your items

Pack your personal belongings and prepare the customs declaration forms.

Step4. Picking Up

When your packages are ready, schedule a pick-up with our branch office.

Step5. Shipping

Your packages will be consolidated and transported to Japan.

Step6. Import Customs Clearance

In order to process customs clearance, you need to file the customs declaration forms at the Japan customs when you arrive.

Step7. Delivery

Your packages will be delivered to the final destination.

Please make sure to declare all of your personal items when you arrive in Japan.

Terms of Use

  • For payment, please follow the payment instructions sent by e-mail and make payment before departure.
  • You will need to prepare 2 copies of declaration forms of your personal items for Customs when you arrive Japan.
  • Additional charges may apply when shipping to other than main island of Okinawa, other remote islands.
  • Packages cannot be sent to multiple addresses.
  • We do not provide unpacking service.
  • If any additional special toll/access fees are incurred, they will be charged separately.
  • Additional fees may apply if the customer requests assistance with moving insurance procedures.

Restrictions and limitations:

  • Alcoholic beverages – limited 3 bottles approx. 760cc
  • Cigars – 100 Cigars
  • All over-the-counter and prescription drugs (both foreign and Japan made)
  • Disposable contact lens - amount for use for a period for 2 months
  • Cosmetics – 24 applications
  • No person shall bring hunting guns, air guns, swords, etc. into Japan without a permit to possess

Prohibited:

  • Heroin, cocaine, opium, stimulants, psychotropic substances, and other narcotic drugs
  • Firearms, ammunition, and pistol parts
  • Explosives
  • Counterfeit, altered, or imitation coins, paper money, bank notes, or securities, and forged credit cards
  • Obscene or immoral materials such as pornography, and child pornography
  • Articles which infringe upon intellectual property rights
  • Meat products, plants, vegetables and fruits

【Insurance Information for the Tanshin/Self Pack Plan】

Insurance premiums are included in the price of the Tanshin/Self Pack plan. Please refer to the table below.

  • If declared in USD, the amount will fluctuate with the monthly exchange rate. If 1 USD is 140 JPY, the maximum declaration amount for the minimum plan will be approximately 3,500 USD.
  • If the insurance declaration price exceeds the limit, you could change to a premium plan (the insurance premium will be 0.95% of the total declared value).
  • We cannot accept items exceeding 200,000 JPY per box.
  • In the event where your package is damaged or lost, you may be required to arrange for repairs or replacement items yourself.
  • ※Please note that shipping fees for delivery delays are not covered by compensation.
