Some items for personal use are limited to 10 kg depending on the item. This is because there is a suspicion that quantities exceeding 10 kg may not actually be for personal use.
Personal use refers to importing with the intention of using the entire amount yourself. Selling or giving away imported items to other people is not permitted.
Importing multiple orders at once is also not permitted.
TA-Q-BIN does not apply the special import declaration method for personal imports (60% declaration) to anyone other than mail order businesses and other shippers with whom we have entered into a corporate contract in advance.
If you would like to enter into a corporate contract, please contact us here.
This is an online tool that allows customers to enter and declare the information required for shipment, customs clearance, and delivery of packages. It is compatible with many devices, including smartphones, tablets, and PCs. Simply enter the requested shipper and delivery address, package size and weight, contents, payment method, etc. You can also pay for shipping by credit card online.
You can easily enter information about the package you are sending using your smartphone or tablet. There is no need to go to one of our branches or dealers to pick up the shipping slip in advance. We can distinguish prohibited or restricted items from the entered items, and there is no need to worry about missing information or difficult-to-read characters compared to handwritten shipping slips, which reduces the number of inquiries we receive from customers. Shipping fees can be paid online, so there is no need to provide credit card information separately. The TA-Q-BIN ECO service is only available for applications through TA-Q-BIN Online Shipping.
The basics are a waybill and an invoice. Other documents required may vary depending on the item. If you use TA-Q-BIN Online Shipping, you can complete the process without any additional documents by simply following the instructions on the website.
Please enter the recipient's email address in the Online Shipping tool. An email with the shipment number will be sent.
This is the label that is affixed to the package. It lists the shipment number, the name and address of the recipient, and the name and address of the sender.
A gift is something that you send to a customer in Japan. Items for sale (such as online auction items) do not fall under this category. Regardless of packaging or wrapping, if you write "gift" on the invoice, the item will be treated as a gift. However, please note that the customs authorities may decide not to consider the item a gift.
It depends on where you live.
Please contact your nearest Yamato branch in the U.S.

Unaccompanied baggage declaration form
"Unaccompanied items" (BESSO) refers to luggage sent from the destination separately from the luggage you are moving, personal belongings you no longer need during your trip, souvenirs, etc. that you bring back as carry-on luggage. In principle, items that can be imported and cleared through customs as unaccompanied items are limited to those that can be cleared through customs within six months of the person's return (entry). Items that are deemed to be for personal use are exempt from tax up to 200,000 yen per adult. (If there are both carry-on goods and unaccompanied goods, both will be added together.)
In addition, there is a separate tax-free limit for alcohol, tobacco, and perfume, but alcohol and tobacco are not exempt for minors. Children under the age of 6 are not exempt from tax except for toys and other items that are clearly for the child's own use.
If the tax-free limit is exceeded, goods and commercial samples will be taxed at a rate according to the type of item.
For details on the tax-free limit, please check the customs website.
